Pre-Shoot Checklist

We’re looking forward to photographing your property! To make the most of our time on site and to capture your space at its best, we recommend editing down items as much as possible in advance of the shoot. Less is always more when it comes to real estate photos!

General

  • Remove smaller items and anything that could be perceived as clutter

  • Tuck away personal items (family photos, paperwork, knick knacks)

  • Hide remotes/electronics/chargers

  • Open all shades/curtains/blinds & make sure they’re all even

  • Close windows & make sure fly screens are even

  • Replace burnt out lightbulbs & make sure all lights are the same color temperature

  • Clean windows

  • Clean floors

  • Hide wires/chords if possible and tidy/consolidate if not

  • Fluff and arrange pillows/throws, or remove if they don’t look tidy

  • Clear surfaces (tables/counters/window sills)

  • Limit decor to 1-4 minimalist objects per surface. Nothing too small.

  • If you’re unsure, err on the side of minimalism and remove!

Kitchen

  • Hide as many countertop appliances as possible

  • Edit down items on counter (paper towels, cleaning products, food, dishes, etc)

  • Can keep 2-3 larger items on counter/island (flowers, bowl of fruit, bread board)

  • Remove magnets/photos/papers from fridge

  • Remove trash (even if it’s a nice trash bin)

  • Wipe counters and appliances

Bedrooms

  • Make bed, straighten sheets/comforter

  • Use matching pillows and pillow cases

  • Remove all personal items, electronics, and chargers from night stands/dressers

  • Put away clothes and hide hampers

Bathrooms

  • Clear off counters

  • Hide soaps/shampoos/toothpaste/toothbrushes/shower caddies/etc.

  • Remove trash bins, plungers, toilet brushes, cleaning products

  • Remove bath mats

  • Make sure surfaces, mirror, showers, and baths are clean

  • Neatly hang matching towels or remove if they appear distracting/messy

  • Either full roll of toilet paper or remove toilet paper

Outdoors

  • BBQ covers and furniture covers off

  • Cushions clean and tidy

  • Umbrellas open (or removed)

  • All lounge chairs in the same reclining position

  • Sweep up/wash floors

  • Pull or trim weeds (particularly in between stone/tile flooring)
